A day with ACT in the Carolinas: Advanced ACT Training
The ACT at Duke Team, led by Rhonda Merwin, PhD, spent a full day immersed in the ACT model. This training was designed to advance the knowledge of those who were familiar with the ACT model and looking to advance their skills as ACT practitioners. It also served as a way for us to connect with our colleagues at ACT in the Carolinas.
As you can tell from our photos – we enjoyed each other’s company. This might not look like learning – but we promise this was our focus. We also took a lunch break to meet with our colleagues and discuss how to grow the wonderful work of ACT in the Carolinas.
If you didn’t get a chance to attend this training, you missed an exciting experiential activity that involved lots of courageous role (real) play.
Breaking out into groups and diving in to our own content reinforced the power of the ACT model and remind us that we are not unique – struggle, pain, and suffering is part of the human condition. Nothing makes that more clear than experiencing the model from the inside out.
With over 55 attendees, the workshop was full of energy and expertise from around the state! Thank you ACT Carolinas and Wake Forest University for hosting this wonderful event.
