Soon it's only with Violet that Finch can be himself—a bold, funny, live-out-loud guy, who's not such a freak after all. And it's only with Finch that Violet forgets to count away the days and starts living them. But as Violet's world grows, Finch's begins to shrink.

This is a heart-wrenching, unflinching story of love shared, life lived, and two teens who find one another while standing on the edge."

Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life

Hayes, Steven

ACT at Duke Review

By: Lisa Honeycutt, LPC, LMFTA

My initial experience of this text was critical. I felt like it slanted more toward individuals with extreme anxiety. I also found myself struggling with some of the exercises; however, as I became more familiar with the ACT model, I came back to this text and had a new experience of the writing and the activities. I believe that new clinicians and clients alike could benefit from this text.

Who is this for? This text is designed for clients; however, it can also be used by professionals who are new to the ACT model, or those who are willing to apply the model to their personal life experiences to facilitate learning.
